KNOXVILLE, Iowa – The best sprint car drivers in the world will have added incentive when they return to Knoxville Raceway for the 2020 edition of the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals.

Track officials announced prior to Saturday’s finale of the 59th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals that the 60th running of the event will include lap leader money.

Each lap led will be worth $1,000 to the leading driver. If the race winner leads every lap of the 50-lap feature next year, it would mean the winner would earn $200,000.

For comparison, the winner of Saturday’s Knoxville Nationals finale will earn $150,000 with no lap leader money.
