KNOXVILLE, Iowa — Roth Motorsports officials have officially filed an entry for the 60th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals for Kasey Kahne to drive the familiar No. 83 sprint car.
The team also confirmed the move on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.Â
Kahne drove the team’s car to a fifth-place finish during Monday night’s Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway and will return to the seat during Thursday night’s qualifying program at Knoxville Raceway.
The team’s regular driver, Aaron Reutzel, was suspended for circumventing World of Outlaws inspection rules last week. Parker Price-Miller drove the car during last weekend’s Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.
Kahne was previously entered to drive his own Kasey Kahne Racing with Mike Curb No. 9t, which he wheeled during last weekend’s Capitani Classic, during the Knoxville Nationals.
