MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Regrouping after a tough trip to Eldora Speedway for the Governors Reign, Ian Madsen and Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports will return to action this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway for the 58th Champion Racing Oil National Open.
“We had a pretty tough go at Eldora Speedway and we actually hurt some engines and opted to take last weekend off,” noted Madsen. “We regrouped, and we are prepared as we head into the grueling National Open at Williams Grove Speedway.”
Since climbing aboard the BRM No. 17 in mid August, Madsen and crew chief Wayne Priddy have gelled nicely. The team has put together some very strong runs only to see mechanical issues hamper their efforts, particularly during the Governors Reign.
Madsen and company are poised as they prepare for this weekend’s National Open, before taking part in next weekend’s All Star Circuit of Champions finale in Fremont, Ohio.
“We were all bitterly disappointed with how Eldora went for us,” Madsen added. “Issues really hindered us, and I know Wayne and I are capable of really good results.
“I am extremely thankful to Mike and Josh Baughman as well as Fisher Body Shop for this opportunity to finish out the season for them, and I am looking forward to having some good results.”
