After Two Decades Away, WoO Returning To Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – For the first time in 22 years, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series will return to Santa Maria Raceway.

The Nipomo, Calif., track will serve as the second stop on the Spring California Swing for The Greatest Show on Dirt when racing hits the third-mile dirt oval on March 21.

“After years away we’re thrilled to make our return to Santa Maria Raceway,” World of Outlaw Series Director Carlton Reimers said. “The track will be an exciting addition to this year’s West Coast Swing.”

Californians such as two-time defending champion Brad Sweet, 2019 Rookie of the Year Carson Macedo and Mason Daniel willing be gunning for a home-state win against the likes of 10-time series champion Donny Schatz, 2019 Knoxville Nationals champion David Gravel and Aaron Reutzel, who will compete for rookie-of-the-year honors with Roth Motorsports.

A win at Santa Maria for any of the full-time Outlaw competitors would be their first. The last time the World of Outlaws visited the track in 1999, Jason Statler was victorious.

Twenty-time champion Steve Kinser holds the most Outlaw wins at the track with seven.
