ST. HELENA, Calif. — In conjunction with Rowdy Energy, Hy-Vee has joined forces with Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing for the 61st running of the coveted Knoxville Nationals in Iowa.
The respective energy drink and supermarket brands will be working together to support Abreu’s efforts in seeking a first-ever Knoxville Nationals title.
“We’re thrilled to have Hy-Vee join our efforts. This is an exciting time for everyone involved and I’m ready to get started,” Rico Abreu said. “Rowdy Energy is not only a tool in keeping myself, as well as my team, hydrated and focused, but it’s a lifestyle.
“There’s nothing I’d like to do more than help promote its availability at one of the largest supermarket chains in the country. And with a Hy-Vee location directly across the street from Knoxville Raceway, this was a perfect opportunity to put this plan into motion. I’m hoping everyone can join me in getting a little rowdy at the Knoxville Nationals.”
Abreu, a recent Knoxville Raceway winner, will begin flying the Hy-Vee colors this evening, Aug. 11, during competition in his respective Knoxville Nationals qualifying night.
The $175,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals finale will take place Saturday, Aug. 13.
“Our goal is and always has been to support the communities we serve, including Knoxville, where we have a grocery store,” said Tina Potthoff, senior vice president of communications for Hy-Vee. “As we continue to make our mark in the world of racing, we look forward to watching Rico Abreu and the other drivers and teams at the Knoxville Nationals this weekend and appreciate the partnership of Rowdy Energy for their continued support of the sport.”
