WINCHESTER, Ind. — Chris Windom will be a late entry for Thursday night’s USAC Silver Crown Series race at Winchester Speedway.
The USAC Triple Crown champion will step into the No. 26 AP Driver Development entry for Aaron Pierce who has been feeling under the weather.
“This team is really on it’s a-game now winning and leading races lately,” Pierce said. “We’ve got Chris (Santucci, legendary crew chief) coming in to call the race with Dave (Newman) and Rusty (Callahan), Kaylee (Bryson) is coming to observe — everybody else (SPR staff) has worked so hard to get us fast, and I just don’t want to screw this up for them by not being 100 percent.”
Windom, who is racing winged sprint cars this season, won the USAC Silver Crown championship in 2016, the sprint car title in 2017 and the USAC midget title in 2020.
