PERRIS, Calif. — Cody Williams led only the final lap of Saturday night’s Brother Brett Classic for the Avanti Windows & Doors USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series at Perris Auto Speedway.
Williams, who was the fast qualifier for the 20-car field with a 16.512-second lap, ran down A.J. Bender during the closing laps and made the winning move on the 30th and final circuit of the half-mile track.
Bender, who started from the pole, finished second, with point leader Tommy Malcolm racing from eighth to third.
Charles Davis Jr. and R.J. Johnson completed the top five.
