Vander Weerd Rolls At Bakersfield


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Richard Vander Weerd won Saturday night’s USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series race at Bakersfield Speedway.

Vander Weerd led the first three laps of the event before Danny Faria Jr. took over on lap four. Vander Weerd regained the point on lap five and paced the remainder of the 30-lap event.

Ryan Bernal finished second with Bud Kaeding, Jace Vander Weerd and Rusty Carlile completing the top five.
