PERRIS, Calif. — Making his fourth start, Richard Vander Weerd regained the lead from Damion Gardner on lap 16 and sprinted to his second victory of the season in Saturday night’s AMSOIL USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series feature at Perris Auto Speedway.
Piloting the family owned No. 10 Vander Weerd Construction / Stone Gate Development Maxim, Vander Weerd claimed his ninth career USAC-CRA triumph.
Early leader Jake Swanson, fast qualifier Gardner, Brody Roa, and Cody Williams followed Vander Weerd to the checkered flag.
Matt Stewart earned the night’s Specialty Fasteners Hard Charger Award with an 18th to ninth-place run.
Gardner scored his 86th Woodland Auto Display Fast Time Award by posting a time of 16.449 seconds over the 24-car roster.
