Thomas Wins, Gardner Is Speedweek Champion

HANFORD, Calif. — Kevin Thomas Jr. claimed his second victory of California Speedweek during the series finale for the USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series Saturday night at Keller Auto Speedway at Kings Fairgrounds.

Thomas, who was also the night’s fast qualifier, took the lead from Damion Gardner on lap 26 and led the final five circuits of the three-eighths-mile oval for the victory.

Gardner finished second and secured the Speedweek championship, while Geoff Ensign, Logan Williams and Jace Vander Weerd filled the top five.
