Rain Stops Two USAC Events


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Persistent rain and inclement weather have forced cancellation of Sunday’s Sumar Classic Traxxas USAC Silver Crown race at the Terre Haute Action Track.

Track and USAC officials are investigating options for rescheduling but no new date has yet been established. The 2013 series will now debut with the May 18 USAC Hall of Fame Classic at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.

Rain also interrupted Saturday night’s USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series race at Lincoln Park Speedway, forcing postponement of the program during the second heat. A makeup date is expected to be announced Monday.

Bryan Clauson was fast qualifier for the 35-car field.
