SOMERTON, Ariz. — Daison Pursley’s first weekend driving for Team AZ resulted in a sweep of the Western World Championships at Cocopah Speedway.
Pursley followed up his first AMSOIL USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series triumph on Friday with a report performance on the final night of the 56th annual event at the three-eighths-mile track.
Pursley took the lead from Jake Swanson on the second lap and led the remainder of the 30-lap feature.
Kevin Thomas Jr. romped from 17th on the grid to finish second.
Fast-qualifier C.J. Leary, Charles Davis Jr. and Braden Chiaramonte rounded out the top five.
