Port City To Mark Return Of USAC National Midgets

TULSA, Okla. – The NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series plans to return to action on May 22-23, in the maiden series visit to the eighth-mile Port City Raceway.

The inaugural Werco Manufacturing T-Town Midget Showdown presented by B&H Contractors will showcase back-to-back nights of NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series racing on Memorial Day Weekend.

Both nights will include full series points-paying events, with a complete program each night that culminates with a feature event. Outlaw non-winged micros will also be featured with complete programs each night.

Details on participant entry limits and guidelines will be released within the week.

The seating capacity for the T-Town Midget Showdown will be limited to 400 spectators per night. Tickets are available now by clicking here.

Port City’s T-Town Midget Showdown is being promoted by USAC mainstay Brady Bacon and his wife Xia Xianna, under the Elite Racing Promotions banner.

“We are extremely excited to get back to racing and would like to thank Jon Werthen of Werco Manufacturing and Brodie Hayward with B&H Contrators for their continued support for this event throughout this process. Without their help this race would not be possible,” said Brady Bacon. “We have been working tirelessly with Port City and USAC to ensure this race happens in a safe and successful manner.”

“We know that there are a lot of people looking forward to this event, and we truly appreciate everyone’s support and understanding as we all work through these unexpected, but necessary, changes together,” added Xia Xianna Bacon.

The events signal the return of USAC national racing for the first time in nearly two months. The most recent such race was a March 7 NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series event won by Tanner Thorson at the Southern Illinois Center in DuQuoin, Ill.

With Friday’s event confirmation, the following events have been postponed: the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series’ Tony Hulman Classic at Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track, the USAC Silver Crown Series’ Sumar Classic at Terre Haute and the Silver Crown Dave Steele Carb Night Classic at Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, Ind.
