SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Jason McDougal will reunite with Daigh-Phillips Motorsports and take on all five dirt races next year on the USAC Silver Crown National Championship schedule.
McDougal previously competed for the Daigh-Phillips team in 2018-19, winning twice amongst USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship competition.
Phillips considered 57 different drivers for his No. 27 car, those many suggestions made by fans and those involved in racing. Phillips decided to bring back the Broken Arrow, Okla., native.
“I’ve always enjoyed racing with Steve and Carla (Phillips); and I’m ready to do it again,” McDougal said.
McDougal has made nine career USAC Silver Crown starts, but only one for Phillips.
McDougal made six series starts this year Klatt Enterprises, with his best performance coming at Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway, starting from the pole and finishing sixth. He finished a career best fourth in 2018 at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway for owner Chris Dyson.
McDougal and Phillips start their five-race tour May 1 at Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track before heading to Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on June 18, Illinois State Fairgrounds on Aug. 20, Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in southern Illinois on Sept. 3 and Eldora Speedway Sept. 23-24.
