VENTURA, Calif. — Chase Johnson was the class of the field in winning Saturday night’s USAC Western States midget feature at Ventura Raceway.
Johnson was the fast qualifier of the night with a lap of 12.41 seconds of the seaside dirt track. He then started sixth in the 30-lap main event and steadily marched his way to the front, taking the lead from Brody Fuson on lap 16 and leading the rest of the way.
Michael Faccinto finished second, with Fuson third.
Robby Josett and A.J. Bender rounded out the top five.
