INDIANAPOLIS – Despite a lackluster 12th-place finish Wednesday night at Circle City Raceway, Chris Windom maintained his grip on the USAC Indiana Midget Week points lead.
Windom, the driver of the NOS Energy Drink No. 89, holds a 17-point advantage at the top of the standings over Logan Seavey, who won the Indiana Midget Week crown in 2019.
The defending USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series champion hopes to deliver CB Industries its second straight Midget Week title as a team. Kyle Larson took the IMW championship last season.
Seavey used a seventh-place finish to rise from third to second in the order, looking to deliver car owner Tom Malloy a maiden Indiana Midget week title with the Trench Shoring No. 25.
A lap-19 flip and the 19th-place finish that resulted dropped Buddy Kofoid to third in Indiana Midget Week points, 10 back of Seavey and 27 behind the overall lead.
Five top-10 finishes in five races has Kofoid’s Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports teammate Daison Pursley fourth in the updated Indiana Midget Week standings, with Justin Grant filling out the top five.
Sixth place Kevin Thomas Jr. is only one point behind a spot in the top five with three races to go.
USAC Indiana Midget Week continues Thursday night at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind.
