Faas Outruns Spencer At Perris

PERRIS, Calif. – Nic Faas battled his way by Mike Spencer in the closing laps to win Saturday’s AMSOIL USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series feature at Perris Auto Speedway.

Series championship leader Damion Gardner led the first two laps before giving way to Cory Kruseman on lap three. Kruseman led until lap 12 when Spencer moved to the front of the field.

Spencer stayed up front until lap 23, when Faas closed in and made the pass for the lead. Spencer didn’t give in though, taking the lead back one lap later.

Faas made the final move for the lead on lap 25, putting Spencer in his rear view mirror as he pulled away to victory.

Spencer settled for second, followed by Gardner, Bud Kaeding and Kruseman.
