Emerson Axsom To Pilot Clauson Marshall No. 39BC Sprint Car

INDIANAPOLIS – Officials from Clauson Marshall Racing confirmed Friday that Emerson Axsom has joined the team to pilot the Driven2SaveLives No. 39BC non-winged sprint car.

Axsom, a two-time USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series winner this year, replaces Cole Bodine at Clauson Marshall Racing.

“First and foremost, I want to thank Cole Bodine for the time and effort he has given to CMR, our family and Driven2SaveLives over the last two years,” said Clauson Marshall Racing co-owner Tim Clauson. “He is a racer who came to me with a dream and was willing to work for the opportunity he earned. We wish him nothing but success as he continues his racing career.”

Axsom and Clauson Marshall Racing will compete in select events for the remainder of the year as Axsom continues to chase the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Series title with Petry Motorsports.

“My passion for the sport is rooted in working with the next generation of drives and I feel really fortunate to be able to give Emerson his first taste of driving a sprint car,” said Clauson. “What he, his family and team have done at the National Midget level has been impressive.

“I am looking forward to being a small part in what I am sure will be a big future for Emerson in the sport.”

Axsom will make his Clauson Marshall Racing non-winged sprint car debut Aug. 20 at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway, followed by a stop at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind., on Aug. 21. He’ll make his USAC AMOSIL National Sprint Car Series debut on Aug. 22 at Paragon (Ind.) Speedway before contesting the annual Sprint Car Smackdown at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway on Aug. 26-28.

“I’m super excited to have an opportunity in a car with so much history for my sprint car debut,” Axsom said. “I am honored to be able to spread awareness about organ donation and Indiana Donor Network’s Driven2SaveLives program through racing and to keep the legacy of Bryan Clauson and the No. 39BC car going. I am super thankful for Taylor McLean, Tim Clauson, Diana Clauson, Richard Marshall, Jennifer Marshall and everyone at Clauson Marshall Racing for the opportunity and I cannot wait for the future with such a great team.”
