ROSSBURG, Ohio – Saturday night’s AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series race at Eldora Speedway has been cancelled due to frigid temperatures and a wintry mix of precipitation.
The National Weather Service has also issued freeze warnings throughout Darke and Mercer Counties. The bitter cold temperatures this morning are hampering the track crew’s diligent efforts to rework the high-banked half-mile clay oval into optimal condition and have forced Eldora and USAC officials to cancel tonight’s event featuring the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series, UMP DIRTcar Modifieds and Eldora Stocks. It will not be rescheduled.
The AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series now prepares for next Friday and Saturday’s races in Gas City, Ind., and Putnamville, Ind., respectively.
