PERRIS, Calif. — Cody Williams won the 71st running of the Salute to Indy sprint car race for the AMSOIL USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway.
Williams started fifth and took the lead on lap 25 of the 30-lap event.
From there, he held off polesitter and early leader R.J. Johnson to claim the victory.
Brody Roa, A.J. Bender and Austin Williams rounded out the top five.
Damion Gardner was the fast qualifier with a lap of 16.285 seconds on the half-mile oval.
