INDIANAPOLIS – The entry list for the Driven2SaveLives BC39 powered by NOS Energy Drink continues to grow and now stands at 83 cars for the Sept. 4-5 event at The Dirt Track at IMS.
Just one week remains until the entry cutoff on Thursday night, Aug. 29.
Among the newest entries for the event are a four-car team for Tucker/Boat Motorsports, led by last year’s BC39 runner-up finisher Chad Boat, the son of 1998 Indianapolis 500 pole winner Billy Boat.
He’s joined by Gio Scelzi, whose resume includes becoming the youngest ever winner with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series, as well as at both Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway and Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway.
Talented racer and motorsports announcer Dillon Welch is entered for Tucker/Boat, with whom he set a new one lap NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget Series track record at Kokomo Speedway this past April and finished 25th in last year’s Driven2SaveLives BC39.
Series rookie Karsyn Elledge is set to make her second BC39 appearance this year. She is the granddaughter of 1995 Brickyard 400 winner Dale Earnhardt.
Elledge is one of five female drivers entered thus far for the BC39, along with Holley Hollan, west coast drivers Shannon McQueen and Randi Pankratz, and newly-entered Maria Cofer, a recent USAC Western States Midget feature winner at California’s Petaluma Speedway and 17th place finisher in last year’s inaugural BC39 main event.
Cofer is on a three-car Team Ripper effort which also features AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car point leader C.J. Leary and Jonathan Beason, who boasts a fifth place finish in his lone USAC National Midget start this season at Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway in July.
Zach Daum, the 2011 Hut 100 winner, has entered along with 2006 Turkey Night Grand Prix victor Billy Wease.
The newest group of entries joins an impressively-talented field from top to bottom, headlined by the likes of three past USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget champions in Christopher Bell, Logan Seavey and Tanner Thorson.
That trio leads an eight-car assault from the Keith Kunz Motorsports/Curb-Agajanian stable, which also features May’s Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race winner Kyle Larson, July Sweet Springs, Mo., winner Tanner Carrick, series rookie Jesse Colwell, Holley Hollan and Tucker Klaasmeyer.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., a veteran of 243 starts on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series tour, has an extensive background in USAC National Midget racing, with five wins and rookie of the year honors in 2007. He’s entered for Clauson/Marshall Racing.
Stenhouse will be joined by CMR’s full-time combatants: series point leader and six-time winner Tyler Courtney, two-time winners Chris Windom and Zeb Wise, and leading series rookie Andrew Layser.
Defending BC39 winner Brady Bacon, along with Fairbury, Neb., winner Jason McDougal, are a part of the Broken Arrow, Okla., connection teamed with FMR Racing for the race.
Bacon, a two-time USAC National Sprint Car champion, led the final nine laps to capture the inaugural event a year ago.
