The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame released the results of the 2023 North American Sprint Car Poll on Friday morning in a Facebook livestream.
In the 410 sprint car division, Brad Sweet was named Driver of the Year.
This past season, the No. 49 Kasey Kahne Racing driver collected his fifth World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship. He will compete full time in High Limit Racing, the series he co-owns with Kyle Larson, next year.Â
Meanwhile, youngster Corey Day was given the Wild Card Award. The 18-year-old won the NARC sprint car championship in California this past season and will be stepping up to compete full time at the national level in 2024 with High Limit Racing.
Jerry Gappens at Eldora Speedway was honored as Promoter of the Year.Â
The No. 24 Rico Abreu Racing crew was named Team of the Year. Later in the day, Abreu penned a social media post regarding the award.Â
“I was asked a lot about ‘having a career year.’ Our car had speed on bull rings, half miles, slick tracks, heavy tracks and everything in between. We would unload and find speed by the end of the night,” Abreu wrote. “This is a team award. I wanted to do my job as a driver.”
The RAR team is also led by Ricky Warner, who was also named as a 2024 inductee in the Hall of Fame on Friday.

“Our team has been transformed by his presence. His knowledge about race cars, adjustments and track conditions is so impressive. His demeanor, respect and the way he communicates is what we need for our team,” Abreu continued. I’m excited to see our team achieve some recognition for our good year. I’m even more excited to see Ricky get recognition for his career. He’s done it all and continues to do it.”
FloSports Racing was named Media Member of the Year, while Jeremy Sharpley of Sharp Advantage Safety received the Builder/Manufacturer/Innovator of the Year award.Â
360 Sprint Car Poll Results
Multi-time ASCS winner Jason Martin was named Driver of the Year in the 360 sprint car division.
Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway’s 360 track champion Chase Randall earned the Wild Card Award, while Jace Park was named Rookie of the Year. Park will step up to 410 sprint cars to compete for Johnny Herrera Racing in 2024.Â
The Jason Martin Racing No. 36 crew was appointed as Team of the Year.Â
Pete Walton of USCS is Promoter of the Year, while Michael Rigsby from FloRacing was appointed Media Member of the Year. In addition, there was a tie between Mach 1 Chassic and Ultra Shield for the Builder/Manufacturer/Innovator of the Year award.Â
Non-Wing Sprint Car Poll Results
This season’s USAC national sprint car champion Justin Grant was named the Driver of the Year in the non-wing division.Â
Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series champion Ricky Lewis was bestowed the Wild Card Award, while young USAC racer Trey Osborne earned Rookie of the Year honors. The O’Connor family, who promotes Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway, was named Promoter of the Year.
The Topp Motorsports No. 4 team, which fields Grant, was honored as Team of the Year.Â
USAC’s Richie Murray was named Media Member of the Year, while Joe Devin of DRC Chassis was Builder/Manufacturer/Innovator of the Year.
