HUMBOLDT, Kan. – For the sixth time in eight races, Mother Nature has stricken the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League with yet another rain out.
Due to record-setting downpours throughout the week and a near-flooded facility, officials at Humboldt Speedway made the call to cancel Friday’s event.
Saturday’s show at the Salina Highbanks in Salina, Okla., is still on as scheduled at the moment. Marking not only the inaugural visit in league history to the half-mile, Saturday will be the first POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League event held in the Sooner State.
From March all through April and now into May, the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprints have been drowned in rain across the Midwest. Eagle (Neb.) Raceway on March 29, U.S. 36 (Mo.) Raceway on March 30, Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on April 13, Tri-City (Ill.) Speedway on April 19, Valley (Mo.) Speedway on May 3, and now Humboldt (Kans.) Speedway on May 10, have all been washed away during this unprecedented run.
