TULSA, Okla. — Daison Pursley led all 30 laps to win the POWRi Outlaw Non-Wing Micro feature on the opening night of the Keith Kunz Motorsports Giveback Classic Thursday at Port City Raceway.
Jeffery Pahule set quick time for the 50-car field.
Pursley, the high-point qualifier, battled fellow front row starter Joe B. Miller at the green flag and took the early lead.
Miller chased, with Cannon McIntosh, Cameron Paul and Colby Sokol following.
Leading through consistently quick lap times, Pursley maintained the front of the field over a very close running Miller and McIntosh.
A caution flag on lap 25 bunched the field with five laps remaining. Pursley stuck to the top of the track and romped to his third career victory in the division.
Miller finished second, with Jeffrey Newell grabbing third.
“I knew going into the night the initial start was key, I was able to gain the lead early and hold it, I didn’t feel that comfortable during practice but we should be pretty good come Saturday,” Pursley said. “It’s really cool to see all the great competitions here at Port City Raceway and how lucky we are to have this place”.
Sokol and Brody McLaughlin completed the top five.
Grayson Cooksey showed speed all night from earning quick time and winning the heat race to notching the feature victory in the Jr. Sprint division.
