It’s A Schuerenberg Sweep At Lake Ozark

ELDON, Mo. — Hunter Schuerenberg completed a sweep of the two-night Independence Celebrations for the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprints Saturday night at Lake Ozark Speedway.

Captivating the crowd on the initial green-flag start with high-point qualifier Schuerenberg and Jace Park lined up in the front row would find Park gain the lead on the opening lap with Schuerenberg, Joe B. Miller, Xavier Doney and Jake Bubak chasing.

Overtaking for the top position when working traffic saw Schuerenberg use a precise high line to take the lead from Park with Miller following suite into the runner-up position with Park fading to third.

Setting the stage for late race drama, caution waved with four laps remaining with Miller attempting to take the top spot using a slider on the restart with Schuerenberg protecting the lead to perfection.

Leading the final 20 revolutions, Schuerenberg would not be denied in earning his third-straight POWRi victory.

“The track was more technical tonight and I hate being up front leading when the rubber starts to show, it’s like I’m a sitting duck,” Schuerenberg said. “I really appreciate all the support and I hope we get to do this again really soon.”

Miller held off Park for second with Sam Hafertepe Jr. and Bubak completing the top five.
