BELLEVILLE, Ill. – A change of plans has the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League and the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League heading to Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway on Sunday.
Both tours were dropped from Sunday’s scheduled event at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Missouri, but Humboldt Speedway Promoter Ryan Whitworth stepped up to offer both tours a place to race.
“I’d like to personally thank Humboldt Speedway promoter Ryan Whitworth for extending the offer to run us on Sunday, July 14,” said POWRi owner, Kenny Brown. “After the news was released that we were dropped from the program at Sweet Springs, Ryan reached out and asked if we would like to run at Humboldt on Sunday to round out the weekend.”
Before heading to Humboldt on Sunday night, the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midgets will visit Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo., on Friday and Saturday alongside the POWRi Engler Machine & Tool Outlaw Micros.
“With all of this happening on such short notice, I’d encourage everyone that attends on Sunday to extend a thank you to Ryan, as well,” Brown said. “I’m positive the teams and fans will enjoy the racing that POWRi will put on this weekend, Friday and Saturday at Valley Speedway and then Sunday, at Humboldt Speedway.”
