Willison Continues To Lead In National Pavement Sprint Rankings

ANDERSON, Ind. — The second edition of the National Pavement Sprint Car Rankings was announced on Monday.

The first version of the recently created rankings was initially announced on Aug. 30 with Langley, British Columbia, Canada driver Aaron Willison leading the poll.

Willison is having a career year. He’s already won with six different series this season. He has also won virtually every big, winged pavement sprint car race offered this season including the Pink Lady Classic, Quinsam Sprint Car Classic and the $15,000 War of the Wings. This is the primary reason he finds himself atop the rankings with the updated rankings.

Kody Swanson and Bobby Santos III round out the top three and both stand in prime position to unseat Willison from the top spot before the season concludes. Both drivers have races with the 500 Sprint Car Tour and a USAC Silver Crown pavement race remaining. In addition, both drivers are entered in the 50,000-to-win Las Vegas BITNILE.com Open Wheel Showdown on Nov. 17.

The Open Wheel Showdown will be broadcast LIVE by SPEED SPORT.

Other drivers of note include 15-year-old Colton Bettis who is sitting in fourth place in the updated rankings on the heels of six feature victories this season.

Listed is the most recent ranking as of Sept. 29, that includes the top 20 with accumulated points.
