Western Sprint Rankings Begin With Macedo On Top

CONCORD, N.C. – The Wild Wing Shootout at Arizona Speedway opened the winged sprint car season over the weekend and also kicked off this year’s National Sprint Car Rankings.

The three-night event at Arizona Speedway opened the Western region of the rankings, with Carson Macedo sitting atop the standings.

Driving the Tarlton Motorsports No. 21, Macedo, who will drive the Jason Johnson Racing No. 41 on the World of Outlaws tour this season, was the most consistent performer of the weekend, racking up 148 points.

He’s two markers ahead of Buddy Kofoid, who won the first two features of the Wild Wing Shootout, and Cory Eliason.

The national rankings will begin once drivers have made 20 starts on the season.

The Eastern region opens this weekend with the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions kicking off its season at Georgia’s Screven Motor Speedway.
