USCS Moves Thunderhill Speedweek Event

SUMMERTOWN, Tenn. – Due to the recent snows and wet weather, the remodeling efforts at Tennessee’s Thunderhill Raceway have taken longer than expected.

This has forced the United Sprint Car Series to move round five of the USCS Sprint Speedweek that was scheduled for May 30 to another facility.

The new location for the fifth round of the 2014 Speedweek will be Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., on May 30. It will be the first time the annual USCS Speedweek has had a stop at the three-eighths-mile oval.

On the previous night (May 29) the one week long mini-series makes it’s first-ever USCS Speedweek stop at the Talladega (Ala.) Short Track. On the night after the Magnolia Motor Speedway event, the round six finale will be held at historic Riverside Int’l Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

The USCS Sprint Speedweek kicks off as traditionally on the Memorial Day weekend. The send off event will be at Jackson Motor Speedway in Byrum, Miss., on May 24. On May 25 the USCS Speedweek contingent moves over to Greenville (Miss.) Speedway round two. Round three will be contested during Monday Motor Madness at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, Tenn., on May 26.
