Tyler Courtney is set to return to the familiar No. 7bc for Clauson Marshall Racing this weekend, the team revealed on social media Tuesday. Courtney injured his back during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature last month at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway.
The Indiana native will compete in this weekend’s All Star Circuit of Champions triple-header slate at Outlaw (N.Y.) Speedway, Utica-Rome Speedway and Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway.Â
Anthony Macri and Corey Day filled in for Courtney during his time away. Notably, Macri scored the ‘Mr. Sprint Car’ award after this past week’s Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville (Iowa) Speedway.Â
CMR released a statement, detailing the news.
“We cannot thank Anthony Macri and Corey Day enough for their contribution to CMR while Sunshine was healing from his accident at Eldora Speedway.”

While Courtney’s bid for a driver’s championship were derailed following his injury, the No. 7bc remains second in the owner’s championship, eight points behind the Rudeen Racing No. 26 machine driven by Zeb Wise.Â
“We look forward to finishing off the year with Tyler as we continue to chase our third consecutive All Star Circuit of Champions owner championship.”
