Tulsa Shootout Rolls On

TULSA, Okla. — Wrapping up a wild day of racing at the SageNet Center Thursday during the 38th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout, saw the program roll into the 237th round of competition.

Completing a staggering 147 heat races Thursday morning, the show has begun working into Qualifiers and Alphabet, with Junior Sprints already moving a dozen drivers into Saturday’s A-Feature, while Non-Wing Outlaw and A-Class worked through E, D, and C Features.

Looking at the setup for the Junior Sprints, the front row on Saturday is a family affair with Mattix and Sawyer McBride earning the right to lead the field to the green flag. C and B-Features are on the card Friday to determine who else will move on.

In the 237 races that have been completed, 178 drivers have won a race so far this week, with 13 drivers having won three events.

Forty-seven drivers have won at least two events.

Down to some of the most crucial events in the Shootout, Friday’s show will begin at Race 238 with E, D, and C-Features for Stock Non-Wing.

Qualifiers for Stock, Outlaw, and Restricted will send 16 drivers per class into each of their A-Features on Saturday.

In Outlaw, Jett Barnes enters the Qualifiers’ high point. In Non-Wing Outlaw, it’s Kevin Thomas, Jr. For the Stock classes, Kris Carroll stops atop passing points in A-Class, with Steven Snyder, Jr. leading in Non-Wing. In Restricted, Wyatt Miller leads the standings.

The 38th Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout runs through Saturday.
