TULARE, Calif. — The $300,000 purse for last week’s Trophy Cup at Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway had two parts.
The three nights of racing had a total purse of $114,020 and paid drivers from the C, B and A-mains. On Saturday the 24 drivers that make it to the 50 lap finale receive a second purse of $186,000. The point champion receives $30,000, second in points gets $18,000, third is $15,000 etc.
Corey Day made some late race passes to be the point champion for the second consecutive year. Dominic Scelzi was second in points, needing one more pass to tie Day.
Trey Starks was in charge of the main event and earned the $7,500 first place pay plus point fund added.
