Sweet Returns To Top Of Sprint Car Rankings

CONCORD, N.C. — Brad Sweet returned to the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings following a week during which he won a pair of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series features.

Sweet’s average finish improved to 3.240, pushing him ahead of Pennsylvania driver Danny Dietrich, who had led the rankings the previous three weeks. Dietrich has a 3.611 average finish in 69 starts.

World of Outlaws point leader Donny Schatz ranks third with a 3.840 average finish in 59 starts. David Gravel and Daryn Pittman round out the top five in the rankings.

Logan Schuchart, Cap Henry, Jade Hastings, Logan Wagner and Buddy Kofoid round out the top 10.

Dietrich leads the Eastern region on the strength of 14 victories, while other regional leaders are Buddy Kofoid (Great Lakes), Billy Balog (Great Plains), Logan Schuchart (Northwest), Dominic Scelzi (West), Jacob Patton (Mid-America) and Carl Bowser. (Ohio-PA).

One hundred and 21 drivers have combined to win 329 features run through Sept. 9, with 685 drivers participating.
