With a victory Saturday night at Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway, Brad Sweet returned to the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Sweet’s 12th victory of the season helped push his average finish to 3.473 in 70 starts, pushing him slightly ahead of previous leader David Gravel. Gravel’s average finish is 3.482 in 71 events.
Brent Marks, who won the National Open at Williams Grove and earned $75,000, moves up to third in the standings with a 3.560 average finish.
Rico Abreu and Carson Macedo round out the top five.
One hundred and 55 drivers have made the 20 starts required to be eligible for the rankings and 900 racers have run a winged 410 sprint car race this season.
Freddie Rahmer holds the top spot in the Eastern region, while Joe B. Miller leads the Mid-America region.
Cap Henry heads the Great Lakes region, with Mark Dobmeier on top of the Great Plains region.
Corey Day paces the Western, with Trey Starks on top in the Northwest region. A.J. Flick anchors the PA-Ohio region.
One hundred and 54 drivers have combined to win the 450 features run this season.
Rahmer leads the country with 17 victories.
