Sweet Extends Point Lead

Sweet Remains No. 1 In Sprint Car Rankings

CONCORD, N.C. — World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series point leader Brad Sweet remains at the top of the National Sprint Car Rankings for the fourth consecutive week.

Sweet grabbed his 16th World of Outlaws victory and 17th overall win Saturday night at Pennsylvania’s Lernerville Speedway.

Sweet lowered his average finish to 3.145 in 70 starts this season.

World of Outlaws drivers hold four of the top five spots in the rankings, with David Gravel second, Donny Schatz third and Logan Schuchart fifth. Pennsylvania racer Danny Dietrich is fourth in the standings.

After wrapping up the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions title with a victory at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, Aaron Reutzel jumped to sixth in the standings.

Reutzel and Sweet lead the country with 17 victories each.

Dietrich leads the Eastern region on the strength of 14 victories, while other regional leaders are Buddy Kofoid (Great Lakes), Billy Balog (Great Plains), Shane Golobic (West), Jacob Patton (Mid-America), Donny Schatz (Northwestern) and Carl Bowser. (Ohio-PA).

One hundred and 28 drivers have combined to win 362 features run through Sept. 29, with 704 drivers participating.
