Sweet Holds Serve In Sprint Car Rankings

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Brad Sweet surpassed the 50-start plateau and remained atop the National Sprint Car Rankings during the week ending Aug. 12.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series point leader is now able to throw out his worst finishes having surpassed 50 starts. As a result, his average finish is 4.280. He’s won 13 features this season.

Ohio driver Cap Henry made the 20-start mark, allowing him to be ranked nationally for the first time this year. He ranks second this week with an average finish of 4.600.

Danny Dietrich, who leads the Eastern region, is third nationally with an average finish of 5.0.

World of Outlaws regulars Donny Schatz and Knoxville Nationals winner David Gravel round out the top five in the National rankings.

Buddy Kofoid, who leads the Great Lakes region, ranks sixth nationally.

Other regional leaders are Mark Dobmeier (Great Plains), Jacob Patton (Mid-America), Jack Sodeman Jr. (Ohio-PA) and Dominic Scalzi (Western).

Two hundred and 57 410 winged sprint car features have been run this season, with 103 drivers scoring victories and 623 different drivers participating.
