OCALA, Fla. — After two mid-pack finishes to start the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions season, Tony Stewart withdrew from Saturday night’s finale at Bubba Raceway Park.

The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion’s No. 14 was rolled into the trailer before the cars were fired to get heat into the engine, with Stewart reportedly leaving the speedway. Rumors flew like wildfire through the evening, causing Stewart’s publicist to release the following statement:

“Tony Stewart has scratched for the evening and is reconsidering his schedule with the All Star Circuit of Champions due to his ownership of the series.  Requirements of owning and managing the series supersede his own driving ambitions.  We apologize for the change in tonight’s schedule and appreciate everyone’s understanding.”

Kerry Madsen won Saturday’s feature.
