Stage Set For Xtreme Speed Classic This Weekend

SOUTH AMHERST, Ohio – The second annual Xtreme Speed Classic will feature two-straight nights of racing beginning this Friday night at Lorain County Raceway Park.

The popular event will feature the Must See Racing Sprint Car Series presented by Engine Pro both nights. The Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights series will compete in a full night of racing on Friday and the Midwest Supermodified Series will headline Saturday nights event will a full night of racing.

The Must See Racing Sprint Car Series will qualify, run heat races, the Fast Car Dash, and twin 20-lap qualifying races on Friday. They will return on Saturday night to run their B-main and 30-lap main event. Saturday night will also be the inaugural Jerry Caryer Memorial. The event will honor former Must See competitor Caryer, who passed away one year ago.

The event has quickly established itself as one of the most popular open wheel events in the area. Despite COVID-19, a great crowd witnessed the inaugural event last year. Very few events offer fans three different open wheel classes in the same weekend.

A full field of Must See Racing 410 sprint cars is expected headlined by Tampa, Fla., driver Troy DeCaire, who currently leads the nation with 10 pavement sprint car feature wins thus far. Among others expected is multi-time MSR champion Jimmy McCune and defending MSR champion Anthony McCune.

The MSR Lights series will be competing in race No. 6 of the season. The highly competitive series has seen four different winners in the five events contested this season.

The Midwest Supermodified Series will return for their second appearance of the year at Lorain County. It will be race six of the season. A full field of cars is expected headlined by current MSS points leader Trent Stephens. Mike McVetta will draw a lot of attention this weekend as he will be doing double-duty. He plans to compete in both the MSS and MSR events.
