CLERMONT, Ind. — Bobby Santos threw down the gauntlet Thursday night at Lucas Oil Raceway, sweeping the sprint car and midget features as Thursday Night Thunder returned to the .686-mile asphalt track.
After winning the midget main event earlier in the program, Santos started his No. 22 from the pole and led all 40 laps of the sprint car main event to complete a sweep of the night’s action before a handsome crowd at the legendary short track.
Kody Swanson drove the Doran Racing No. 77 to a second-place finish, with Billy Wease, Derek Bischak and Dakoda Armstrong rounding out the top five.
Sixteen non-winged sprint cars were on hand for the USAC special event with Santos turning the quick qualifying lap at 20.754 seconds.
