HAUBSTADT, Ind. – Brady Short won his first Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series feature of the year Sunday night at Tri-State Speedway, pocketing $3,000 for his efforts.
Short started fifth in the 20-car feature field. Jeff Bland, Jr. and Robert Ballou started on the front row by virtue of the redraw. Both had won heat races and would prove to be tough passes for drivers attempting to move up.
Ballou grabbed the lead with Bland holding second until lap 11. Short was third by then and made the pass on Bland.
Ballou, who would finish second, led the most laps as he kept the lead until lap 18. That is when Short took over to become the fifth different winner in five MSCS races.
Jon Stanbrough was third, followed by Kyle Cummins and Bland.
Trent Young won the companion UMP open-wheel modified feature.
