CONCORD, N.C. — After several seasons of splitting his time among multiple sprint car rides, Shane Stewart will have a home for the 2014 season.
Stewart announced Friday afternoon during the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte that he will be joining Larson Marks Racing next season.
The team is co-owned by NASCAR drivers Kyle Larson and Justin Marks.
Larson, who has won countless dirt track races during the past three seasons, will move up to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series full time next season with Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and as a result has decided to get his feet wet as a team owner.
Stewart, who has won the Knoxville 360 Nationals four consecutive years, has driven for Paul Silva and Joe Gaerte among other team owners this season.
“It’s relieving to know what I am going to be doing the next couple of years with Larson Marks Racing,” Stewart said. “Everyone knows what Kyle Larson has been able to accomplish the last few years and I am humbled to be associated with him and am looking forward to getting started next season with Larson Marks Racing.”
Stewart said more details about the team would be released in the coming weeks.
