BRISBANE, Australia — Donny Schatz banked $20,000 for winning Saturday night’s Australian Sprintcar Open, which was sanctioned by the World Series Sprintcars, at Archerfield Speedway.
Schatz won for the second time in three nights at Archerfield, holding off Kerry Madsen, who won Friday night’s preliminary feature.
Madsen, however, was set back one position for passing in the infield. As a result, Pennsylvania driver Lucas Wolfe was credited with second place.
Madsen finished third, followed by Jamie Veal and Californian Carson Macedo.
Logan Schuchart was ninth and Dominic Scelzi finished 12th.
