COLFAX, Iowa — David Korte Motorsports has confirmed the team will unite with veteran open-wheel racer Robert Bell for the sprint car season.
“We have been negotiating this deal for weeks and have to come to an agreement that we are both excited to announce,” said a post on the team’s Facebook page. “DKM has been looking for someone as dedicated to racing as we are. Robert’s dedication to racing over the past few years exceed the definition of a true racer. Robert has always had the talent, drive and determination it takes to be a winner. We feel that we can accomplish a lot together by joining our resources together for the 2017 season.”
Bell, who won a heat race during the Chili Bowl, will be supplying the car and engine and the combined team is scheduled to kick off the season with the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series Feb. 23-25 at Florida’s Bubba Raceway Park.
In addition to USAC, the team also plans to run some events with the Lucas Oil POWRi WAR Sprint Car Series.
