Pink Lady Classic Field Nearly Set

MERIDIAN, Idaho — The starting field for tonight’s seventh annual Pink Lady Classic at Meridian Speedway is nearly set.

Two spots remain, and those will be filled with a 15-lap last-chance qualifier prior to the 100-lap finale. Teams will be vying for a chance to win $20,000 from the purse of nearly $52,000.

The event will be a points race for NSRA and Speed Tour with a promotional involvement from Must See Racing presented by Engine Pro.

Aaron Willison set a new track record and claimed the pole for tonight’s event. Willison was the only driver to crack the 10-second barrier when he ripped a lap of 10.903 seconds around the quarter-mile speedway.

Willison earned $500 for his pole start.

Several heavy hitters missed the transfer to the A main during heat race preliminaries and were forced to transfer to the main event through the B-main. Eric Humphries, Bryan Warf, Jimmy McCune, Randy Dubois, and Matt Elliott top that list.

Humphries led wire-to-wire to capture the 20-lap Tom Elliott Sportsman Classic and secure a spot in tonight’s 100-lap Pink Lady Classic. The win was worth $1,000 for Humphries.

Willison and second-fastest qualifier Colton Nelson received automatic starting spots and were locked into the feature event by virtue of their qualifying times. The duo will make up the front row for tonight’s event.
