Peck Does It Again At Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. — Justin Peck won his third consecutive Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 feature Thursday night at Bridgeport Speedway.

Driving the Buch Motorsports/Coastal Race Parts No. 13 sprint car, Peck romped from 10th starting spot to pocket the $12,000 prize. It was Peck’s seventh victory of the season and the 12th of his All Star career, with all 12 coming at different tracks.

Although starting from row five, Peck made progress right from the drop of the initial green. By lap four, Peck had battled his way to fourth, climbing to third beyond Anthony Macri on lap 10 and next getting by defending All Star champion and current point leader Tyler Courtney on lap 13.

At the time, Brent Marks was the man in charge, and although the Kings Royal champion had built a comfortable advantage, Peck was quickly on the move.

By lap 20, traffic had entered the picture yet again forcing Marks to check up on his pace. Peck, who started to utilize the bottom of turns three and four, made his move on Marks on lap 21, sneaking by the Murray-Marks Motorsports No. 19m on the bottom of turn four.

Although the pair exchanged sliders the very next circuit, Peck eventually found some space, maneuvering traffic well with Marks fading behind.

Peck’s final challenge occurred on lap 29 when caution flags appeared. Unfortunately for Marks, he was a part of the caution, losing a right-rear tire and pulling to a stop.

The ensuing restart would see Peck take off with Macri and Courtney in tow. Courtney would get by Macri in the final corner.

“I knew when I got by Marks, I was going to have to get going,” Peck said. “I’m sure he was thinking the same thing. Not only are you racing these guys, you’re racing traffic as well. Marks, Courtney, Macri…these guys are all fierce competitors and it’s a blast racing with them. We’re going to celebrate this one and work to do it again tomorrow at Williams Grove.”
