Open Wheel Showdown Features Two-Seater IndyCar Ride Prize

The winners in each category of Davey Hamilton Jr.’s Open Wheel Showdown will also win a two-seater IndyCar ride at an NTT IndyCar Series race of their choosing in 2024.

Event promoter Davey Hamilton Jr. has had a long-standing relationship with the IndyCar Experience doing pace car rides at IndyCar events for them. Along with Davey Hamilton Jr. doing pace car rides, his father Davey Hamilton Sr. is the main IndyCar two-seater driver.

The Hamilton family has been involved in IndyCar and the Indy Experience for years.

It was announced in late July that Hamilton Jr. is promoting a winged asphalt sprint car race paying $50,000 to win, as well as a national midget race paying $10,000 to win Dec. 1-2, 2023, at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“This event continues to grow bigger and bigger every day” Hamilton Jr. said. “I didn’t just want it to be about the money or the purse, I want this to provide an exciting event that brings additional prizes and such that aren’t typically seen for short track racing.”

IndyCar Experience’s Shonda Kennedy added, “IndyCar Experience is thrilled to be a part of this special event and even more thrilled to give the winners of the races a once in a lifetime IndyCar ride with us. No better way to experience IndyCar racing than to get the chance to zoom around the track in our ‘Fastest Seat in Sports!’

“We look forward to seeing this inaugural event become a monumental success for years to come for the short track racing world.”
