BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Back for the third year running, the micro sprint event everyone has been waiting for, the National Speed Sport News 66 Mike Phillips Memorial, will be presented by Brad McDaniel and Addiktive Promotions LLC July 20 at Belle-Clair Speedway.

Starting with a practice night July 18 and including a preliminary night of racing July 19, the National Speed Sport News 66 Mike Phillips Memorial features a $35,000 purse for the final night of racing with a whopping $10,000 to the winner.

The 66 expands with the move to Belle-Clair Speedway after two years at Southern Illinois Raceway.

It was a bittersweet move as the event outgrew the facility and became restricted of space for fans, parking, pitting and racing surface.

There are a lot of exciting announcements coming for the event over the next several weeks, including partners, advertising, entries and some special features incorporated with this year’s race.

One new feature for the 66 is the involvement of National Speed Sport News, which will assist McDaniel and Addiktive Promotions with the release of news related to the 66 Mike Phillips Memorial.

POWRi returns as the sanctioning body for the National Speed Sport News 66 Mike Phillips Memorial with micro-sprint racing’s best known sanctioning body overseeing on-track operations during the busy weekend of racing.

Another big part of this announcement is the release of pre-entry and pit reserve forms for 2013. A new addition for this year is the use of online entry and payment as well as the hard copy that is still offered.

There is an extra $5 fee per online entry or pit reserve to cover the PayPal usage fees, for those that would prefer to do everything online. Pre-entry will be open through July 6 with a $50 late fee to all entries received after.
