IMPERIAL, Pa. — Western PA Speedweek kicked off Thursday night at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway with Dylan Norris earning the victory in his first visit to the half-mile track.
Norris started outside the front row and held off Hall of Fame sprint car racer Dave Blaney, who started fifth, to pick up the $3,500 winner’s check.
Blaney finished second with fellow Hall of Famers Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney in tow.
Polesitter John Jerich finished fifth.
Brandon Spithaler was the fast qualifier for the 39-car field with a 16.644-second lap.
Western PA Speedweek continues Friday at Lernerville Speedway.
