CONCORD, N.C. – Despite not running a single sprint car race this week, Kyle Larson remains comfortably on top of the National Sprint Car Rankings.
Larson, who won a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race Saturday at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway, boasts a 3.313 average in 48 winged sprint car starts, with a national best 26 victories.
After his fourth victory of the season Saturday at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, Lance Dewease ranks second with a 4.636 average finish in 22 events.
Brad Sweet, who won Sunday’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway, ranks third with a 5.450 average finish in 40 starts.
Ohio’s Cap Henry is fourth with a 5.7 average finish in 20 starts, while David Gravel is fifth with a 5.927 average finish in 41 races.
Sixty-two drivers have reached the mandatory 20-start plateau to be ranked.
Regional leaders are Danny Dietrich (Eastern), Cap Henry (Great Lakes), Sweet (Great Plains), Jacob Patton (Mid-America), Brandon Spithaler (OH-PA) and Justin Sanders (Western).
Eighty-six drivers have won the 230 features run this season.
