LINCOLN, Ill. — With just a handful of 410 sprint car starts to his credit, Jake Neuman wheeled his No. 3n machine to victory at Lincoln Speedway on Friday night with the Morrow Brothers Ford MOWA Sprint Car Series.
Neuman started second alongside polesitter Cory Bruns for the feature and used the outside line to his advantage to claim the early lead.
Robert Ballou, driving the Nine Six Motorsports No. 96, powered forward from his sixth-starting position to muscle his way into the top three, and began his pursuit of chasing down Neuman as the field entered lapped traffic.
Ballou made it exciting, as he battled with Joey Moughan and Chris Windom as he prowled past other competitors.
As Neuman navigated around slower cars, Ballou and at times, Moughan were within striking distance of Neuman’s machine, but were unable to capitalize and overtake the race leader.
Ballou finished second, with Joey Moughan, Windom and Zach Daum rounding out the top five.
